Working with Cammy on his first EP we made two videos for him. “Last Minute Man” was shot at Lovers Lane Studios in Dumfries. The idea was to use the first video to introduce Cammy and the other band members. Cammy asked for the video to be edited in black and white to go with the cover of the EP. “Wild Eyes” was shot in a pub in Annan, Cammy’s home town, over the course of a day which culminated in a live performance in the evening.
Keep on Going – The Yahs
For many years The Yahs were a local band beloved in Dumfries and for one of their final album tracks we were asked to produce a video. We were delighted to work in the Theatre Royal in Dumfries (pre refurbishment) as it added a great atmosphere to the video. We decided to include some of the behind the scene shots in the video as they showed what was going on and the work the band had put into the video.
Wiseman – Sticks & Stones
Sticks and Stones are a local band here in Dumfries and we had the privilege of working with them to create their music video for their track ‘Wiseman’ which is a single from their album ‘Into the Wild’. We managed to use another one of our ‘secret’ locations for a number of hours so we had to go into the shoot knowing exactly what we wanted to do. As usual we don’t work with storyboards just a list of shots and understanding band members, who were warned that there would be a lot of hanging around…luckily they were so good and it was a fantastic day that we needed no additional light (other than the fairy lights for effect). A bit of tech stuff…we used 2 Sony NEX VG-20e cameras, both shoulder mounted with one swapping out to a tripod when needed. Each camera had a Nikon lens, a 35mm and a 50mm which gives a great photographic portrait look to some of the shots.
