Over the past 15 years of PurpleBox we has had the opportunity to take on longer projects allowing us to get more in depth with our subjects and cover a wider range of topics.

We were asked by Dumfries & Galloway Council to document the 2015 World Curling Federation championships that took place at the Ice Bowl here in Dumfries over two weeks from which we created a short film made for the gala ball. The last shot was filmed at 6pm of the Seniors winners medals presentation, the video being shown that night at 8pm.
This is the longer version made for Dumfries and Galloway Council as a record of the event. It includes interviews with staff, competitors, volunteers and audience. We covered the making of the ice to the last shot thrown in the competition. We also followed the arrival of the competitors from Glasgow Airport to hotels and then as they see the ice for the first time.
WE CAN BE HEROES - BIG BURNS SUPPER 2015
This was a project created by Graham Main the director of the Big Burns Supper as the 2013 festival opening show. The original show was to be held in the middle of Dumfries town centre on a specially erected stage at the end of January but due to extremely heavy snow the night before the performance it was cancelled and moved to DGone in May of that year. We had three roles in this project: provide video footage for an interactive show, work with the cast to ensure that the footage played at the correct points during the show and also film the performance for a record of the event for the web and DVD.
